Anniversary

Lisa and I were hanging in DC Sunday afternoon and celebrating our wedding anniversary.  Six years of dealing with me as I have been growing up to be a real man...she's a woman like no other!  :)

I hope to spend more time this week with her before heading to Uganda, Africa next week to train youth and youth pastors from Uganda and surrounding nations.  Just got back from BreakOut Rochester (report here) this past Friday.  It went very well.

I also got some time to put up some new articles in the Speaking section. Click here to read them.

In Case You Wondered

I am human and so are you.

It is a quiet Sunday night.  The washer is washing some clothes I need to pack for my trip up to Rochester, NY tomorrow morning.

My puppy is pacing back and forth wondering when her parents (me and lisa) will play with her before she goes to bed.

Lisa...she's strumming on a professional "toy" guitar trying to decide if she should try to sell it on Ebay or not.

As for me...I just deleted a few paragraphs I just wrote out because I think it's too personal and may be I should just refrain from sharing what I was just about to share.  Let's just put it this way.  Some pettiness has gotten my heart a little heavy.

Yes...in case you wondered...pettiness gets in my world.  I am apparently human, no matter what great thing I accomplish.

Note to self: Pettiness is like weeds. They grow in everyone's yard.  So we may as well have fun mowing them down....again and again.

Ah! I feel better already.  God bless America...

For the love of life,

Minh

Back from Buffalo

I am back!...from Buffalo, NY.  Had an incredible week speaking and ministering there. Check out the Speaking section for a report on that time.

I'm gearing up for a few things in the fall and for 2009 while staying in top condition for the summer schedule.  I'm finding that in order to have an advantage, you have to plan ahead! God is behind planning ahead. It's good for life.  It's good for ministry. It's good for business.  It's good for just about everything!

I'm also wrapping up some design projects for a couple of clients.  Aside from this, I'm just glad to be home and look forward to spending quality time with my wife and puppy.  :)  Good times!

Busy Summer

So I just got back from Prince George, VA this past week.  I was there for a music engagement. Home for the weekend and then I'm heading out to Buffalo, NY on Monday for a speaking engagement and will be returning Friday on time for Young Adult Movement on Friday night. Then, I am home for a week and then I'll be heading out to Rochester, NY for another speaking engagement. Then, I'll be back home for another week and then I'll be heading out again...this time to Uganda (Africa) for two weeks for a speaking engagement.

So already, it's looking like a busy summer. I have enlisted Lisa as my project manager for the creative business side of my life.  She will help me handle projects for clients. She will also help me handle booking for music and speaking. I'm processing whether or not I should look into getting a few interns.  We shall see.

A New Kind of Venture

I sit and think. Sometimes a little too much. But as I think, I can't help but notice that all we want are answers to questions that perplex us and solutions that actually work.  I think about my life.  I think about the lives of those I'm close to.  And it all boils down to one thing - we want to make life count in one way or another.  Then, I ask myself an honest question, "Am I really helping anybody with my existence? Or am I just trying to impress someone?" And I realize more clearly than ever, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks about what I'm doing as long as I'm helping people by doing the things that God has made me to do - in the box, out the box, or on the box.

This is who I am and these are the things that I do. My aim isn't to build some great organization, but to simply present myself and my life with all that it entails (as God has made and shaped me) to the world in hopes that I can make a difference in my lifetime.

I also realize that, in order to be effective and maximize impact, I had to consolidate and bring everything I do through one channel.  Over the past year, I have been working on just that - simplifying, simplifying, simplifying...to get to where I am now. I hope by doing this I can help and serve people better and not burn myself out - pacing for the long haul.
